Growing bigger!
As I am sure eveyone is aware who attends the junior clasess, our numbers over the last 5 months have grown. For health and safety reasons we feel it is necessary to split the class into 2 equal classes. The first class will be 11.30-12.30, and the second class is 12.30-1.30pm. This means that the adult class will be 1.30-3.30pm every Saturday. This will commence on Saturday 21st April. Thank you for your support.
Easter Grading Course
Saturday 14th and Sunday15th April. Sat 10-4pm, Sun 12-4.30pm. Saturday will include adult gradings, traditional aikido techniques and weapons work. Sunday is something a little different! A chance to integrate kicks and punches within aikido techniques. This will invole use of focus pads, bag work and a circuit style training. Cost of the weekend is £20 for adults, £10 for under 16's/students/unemployed. Please see your instructor for a course booking form.
Aikido's all red!
Thank you to everyone who helped to support us raise money for comic relief on Sat 17th March. Children and adults were all dressed in red, they took part in the send your buddy to school scheme and looking at the photos had lots of fun! We raised over £70 on donations alone, which combined with Sensei Clare's school is over £300!. Thanks again for all the effort.
Congratulations Sensei Jeff!
A surprise grading again by Sensei Linus Dignam and Sensei Errol Givens, who shocked Sensei Jeff by asking him to take his 2nd Dan grading. After multiple attacks, knife techniques, bokken and jo waza the panel were pleased to announce another 2nd Dan to the club.
Well done Sensei Jeff from all friends and family of the Hagakure Dojo.
100% Pass record again!
Well done to Neil, Simon, Jake and Chris who demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the syllabus, respect, dedication and an extreme amount of etiquette during the Christmas grading course. Well done again, you all worked very hard and did your instructors and yourselves proud.
WOW!
What an end to 2006! Over 86 junior and infant students took part in our Christmas grading course and enjoyed the party afterwards. It was a mixture of Kendo, Iaido, timing and parachute exercises as well as some excellent gradings. The children were a credit to the instructors, parents and themselves. Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you to all instructors and parents who helped the day run so smoothly.

2nd Dan for Sensei Clare Gray
Congratulations for Sensei Clare Gray in successfully achieving her second dan in Aikido. Instructors and founder members of the Alliance Budo Association put immense pressure on Sensei Clare Gray who dealt with the situation extremely well. After the initial surprise Sensei Gray gave a great display of aikido techniques against multiple attackers, multiple knife attacks, to mention but a few and finished with a demonstration of her teaching qualities.
The club members as well as friends and family are absolutely delighted. Well done again!
